Freelance Opportunity: Assistant Producer x 3

We are offering an opportunity to work and learn with our team by assisting running the Ascension 2022 series of improvised music concerts with Curious Ear.

This isn’t a regular 9-5 job. It’s a great chance to be involved with improvised and experimental music in Manchester while learning the basics of DIY gig organisation as an assistant producer. You will be assisting us in the delivery of gigs through 2022 which will be on evenings or weekend afternoons. Our plan is to create a small pool of assistants who will be able to support the gigs during 2022.

Each concert will require a 6 hour shift with compensation at £100.

Duties could include:

• Loading in and assisting with setting up for concerts

• Assisting with setting up box office

• Meeting & greeting audience

• Staffing box office & merch stall

• Helping set up and monitor stream

• Break down/tidy up/help load out at the end of the night

If you have knowledge of how a small organisation runs concerts and experience of working alongside performers, colleagues and the public that would be desirable but applicants with a range of experiences will be considered. Passion for improvised and experimental music, an enthusiasm to work with us and a desire to learn/get involved are more important qualities.
